Our thoughts to Jumpu-Manpan
"Jumpu-Manpan" means "Smooth Sailing" in Japanese four characters idiom. Jumpu-Manpan is not only our hostel name but our inspiration in how we can help you catch that great tailwind and sail smoothly into a new adventure.
We decided
The concept of our hostel is "Connecting our guests and people in Otaru". We strive to help visitors experience the beauty of Otaru while providing a comfortable harbor in which to plan further travels or relax and minge with locals, friends, and new people from all over the world.
"LLC (Limited Liability Company) ええんちゃう EENCHAU"
Our history
We decided to open our hostel "to utilize a vacant house effectively" which was suggested by the construction company which has a long-term relationship with us.
However, it was not easy to run a hostel because we had to start everything from scratch, such as structuring a management style,
and starting operating company. HTherefore, in October 2018, we started "LLC EENCHAU".
Throughout managing our company, we try to solve some issues below to realize ideal Otaru city.
1. Vacant house problem
According to the investigation, the percentage of vacant house in Otaru in 2013 is 17.4%, which is much higher than the national average of it.
2. Super-aging society
The aging rate in Otaru in 2017 was 38.2%. In this super-aging society, it is highly important for young people to revitalize Otaru city by taking action.
3. The gap between Tourist spots (Tourists) and Residence (Residents)
Although Otaru is remarkably famous for its tourism
We reckon that it is needed for revitalizing Otaru city to connect both of them and interact with each other in a great way.

小樽をもっと好きになってもらえるような空間にすることが私たちの願いです。
COMPANY
合同会社ええんちゃう
2018年、小樽市の建設会社から「空き物件を有効活用できないか」という
相談をいただいたことをきっかけに、HOSTEL 順風満帆を始めました。
私たちは、ゲストハウスを通して
「空き物件」「人口減少・高齢化」「観光客と地域の分離」
といった小樽の課題に向き合い、新しい人の流れや交流を生み出していきます。
小樽と、もっと近く。
泊まるだけではなく、人と出会い、まちとつながる。
HOSTEL 順風満帆は、これからも小樽とともに歩んでいきます。
